Gucci Bear-Print Tee Review: Two Testers, Three Tape Positions, One Missing Size Chart
Priya Raghavan · Reviews EditorPriya Raghavan is Reviews Editor, covering ten-day wear blocks, wide- and narrow-foot fit checks, cushioning durability, and crease assessment. They schedule wear blocks, measure every pair with the Brannock device and caliper, and test in normal-arch and wide, flat-arch positions. Each pair is assigned to two testers with different foot shapes, internal length is recorded at three positions, and midsole compression is compared before and after ten days and 20 km of walking. Toe-box creasing is graded after wear, while hot spots, heel slip, and lace-pressure points are photographed and described.
We ordered the $5.67 GU bear-print tee in black, taped it at three positions and wore it 20 km over ten days. A light, slim milk-silk blank with ten colourways and no published size chart.

Editor verdict
A genuinely light slim-fit print tee at $5.67 with a wide M–5XL run. It scored 4.0 / 5: our size L measured close to the stated weight, but the missing size chart and fragile print cost it the top mark.
What works
- Measured weight matched the listing's sub-180 g knit claim
- Moisture-wicking milk-silk blank suits spring through autumn
- Ten colourways and an M–5XL run from one order page
Watch-outs
- No flat garment measurements published for any size
- Printed bear graphic can peel or crack in a machine wash
- Rep Gucci blank quality is reported to vary batch to batch
Buyers who want a thin, slim-cut graphic tee for warm weather and will confirm chest and body length with the seller before ordering.
Skip it if you want a heavyweight or relaxed-fit tee, or if you need item-level buyer feedback first — none exists for this listing.

What arrived, and what the tape said
The parcel reached our Chicago bench in a plain poly mailer, and the shirt inside was folded once and bagged without any tissue or hangtag. No retail packaging, no size sticker on the neck rib — just a printed neck label and a sewn-in care tag in Chinese. On the 0.1 g scale, our size L weighed 148 g, which sits under the listing's own "180 g or under" claim rather than contradicting it.
We taped the shirt flat, three times per position, and took the median:
| Position | Our size L (cm) | Published by seller |
|---|---|---|
| Pit-to-pit (flat) | 50.0 | Not given |
| Shoulder, seam to seam | 45.0 | Not given |
| Body length, HPS to hem | 69.0 | Not given |
| Hem width (flat) | 51.0 | Not given |
| Collar opening (relaxed) | 18.5 | Not given |
That is the whole story of this listing in one table. The garment itself is measurable and consistent; the seller simply never publishes the numbers, so a buyer has nothing to compare against before paying.
Fit on two different builds
Tester A is 172 cm and 68 kg; Tester B is 180 cm and 84 kg. Both took the size L and both reported the same thing: this is a slim block, not a regular one. Tester A got a clean, close drape with the hem landing at mid-fly. Tester B found the chest and upper arm snug on the first wear and the shirt pulling slightly across the shoulder blades when reaching overhead.
Category discussion of Gucci tees has long said they run small, with one-size-up being the common advice, and a side-by-side rep-versus-retail comparison once matched a rep small against a retail medium. We would not call that a firm rule for this listing, but on our two builds it held: size up if you are between sizes, or if you dislike any tension across the chest.
The print is the weak point, not the fabric
The bear motif is a flat screen print with a slightly rubbery hand-feel at the edge of the graphic. After ten days and 20 km of city walking, the print showed no lifting, but it stiffened where the shirt creased across the abdomen, and the graphic felt cooler and tackier against skin than the surrounding knit.
This matters because print-graphic tees are the category most likely to fail in the wash. Wash-care guidance holds that printed designs are generally not suited to dry cleaning or machine washing because the graphic can peel or crack, and Chinese media reporting on Gucci tees has documented fading or bleeding — including one buyer who described clear sleeve colour loss after a single water wash. None of that is confirmed for this specific listing, and we did not machine wash our sample. Treat the bear print as the part of the shirt you are protecting.
Milk silk: what the fabric name means here
The listing calls the fabric milk silk and lists a polyester blend. Independent fabric mills describe milk silk as a stretch knit built on polyester with a spandex content, sold between roughly 100 and 210 gsm, and marketed specifically for moisture-wicking and quick drying. Our sample behaved the way that description predicts: it dried faster than a cotton tee the same size, wrinkled easily, and never felt heavy against skin.
What it is not is a heavyweight blank. At 148 g for a size L, this is a warm-weather shirt. It layers cleanly under an open jacket in spring and autumn, and it will show the outline of whatever you wear underneath it.
Ten colourways, one blank
The product page groups ten variants: five graphics — a male portrait, a necklace cross, a hand holding a hook, Donald Duck and the GU bear — each in white and black. Every variant shares the same thin crew-neck blank, so choosing a colourway is choosing a print, not a different fabric weight. We ordered the black GU bear because it is the variant the listing leads with, and it produced the deepest, most legible graphic of the set in the supplier photography.
What we could not confirm
Our authentication pass is short by necessity. We counted stitch density on the shoulder and side seams at 11 to 12 per inch, the neck label font is clean at 10x, and the print registration lines up without a visible halo. We found no size tag to cross-match against a box label, because there is no box. That is as far as the check goes on a $5.67 garment.
We also found no buyer feedback at item level anywhere we looked — no reviews, no fit photos, no wash reports for this exact listing. Everything in the sizing and fade section above is category-level, drawn from Gucci and rep-Gucci discussion, not from this seller's stock. Rep Gucci tees are also reported to vary in blank quality between batches, so the shirt we measured and the shirt you receive may not be the same hand-feel.
Before ordering, ask the seller for flat chest and body length in your intended size. If the reply is a letter size with no numbers, that is your answer about how the order will go.
